3 Signs You Should Listen to What Your Gut Says

3 Signs You Should Listen to What Your Gut Says

There it was. You know that gut feeling? The one trying to tell you something is or isn't for you. The one that you think will go away, but never actually does. Here's what it was trying to tell me.

That for reasons I could not logically know at the time, we were not right for each other. And after two years, I finally listened. And gave in. Ever wonder whether to listen to your gut or not? Here are some signs you really should.

Fighting for Peace

Fighting for Peace

"I'm enlisting in the military." That’s what one of my best friends told me a few years back. It came as a total surprise. As a savvy peacekeeper, compassionate artist, and the girliest girl I knew, she was the absolute last person who, I thought, would join the forces.

And at the time, I was usually pretty offended by anybody even mentioning their support or involvement in the military. But things have changed since one of the people I love the most decided to serve her country in a way I once considered profane. Right now, as I’m visiting her and her Marine husband out in San Diego, I find their service profound. Here’s why.

Creating Magic Out of Fear

Creating Magic Out of Fear

BOO. Eep, did I scare you? Hope so, cuz Halloween is fast approaching and so are the spooky feels: terror, fright, panic, YOU NAME IT. A lot of us are SO down to get skerred right now. BUT OMG, do these feelings ever creep in when you think of the things on your bucket list? Jumping out of an airplane, living in another country, starting a business, EEK.

I for one ALWAYS feel the fright flood into my body when I think of pursuing my biggest, baddest dreams. Ever feel the same? Then I’ve got a dare for you. Scratch that. A triple dog dare.

3 Ways You Can Turn Your Passion into a Profit

3 Ways You Can Turn Your Passion into a Profit

Ahhh the age old question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” We didn’t have a clue what we were in for as kids, but I distinctly remember always saying I wanted to be a teacher. Maybe because I loved school (and my teachers) so much and I wanted to be just like them.

But it wasn’t until I started writing this that I realized I am a teacher. That I have manifested my childhood dream into a reality. And I’m getting paid for it. And we want to help you do the same. Here’s 3 questions to ask yourself if you want to turn your passion into a profit.

How can you measure something that doesn't exist?

How can you measure something that doesn't exist?

That’s the question someone asked at our Awaken the Dreamer Within workshop this Sunday in Chicago. She was referencing her love life as we filled out our fulfillment wheel. Later that night, I was hanging with a friend and we were talking about building relationships.

I started to imagine a healthy relationship being like a really well-knit sweater (cozy, loose but not too loose, giving you all the homey, comfort feels) and an unhealthy one being a little more itchy, irritating, maybe too tight, making you burst at the seams.

Signs You Need a Passion-Fueled Job

Signs You Need a Passion-Fueled Job

About this time one year ago, I made one of the scariest decisions of my life. I left my stable, full-time DREAM job...to pursue one of my real dreams: starting a business. I still feel the nervousness I felt back then - a pretty even blend of joy, fear, and anxiety that had me going to yoga every day just to be able to breathe.

Do you ever feel like your potential is just waiting to burst out of you too? If so, you're not alone.  In fact, it's one of the most common things I hear among our generation. Here are three signs that this is the case for you.

When it comes to building dreams, our perception of what we want can get a little fuzzy. "Do I really want that promotion or do I just want an ego boost?" "Is traveling the world really going to make me happy or just get me a lot of Instagram likes?"

Well this back and forth indecision is the reason I got so excited by these nail-it-on-the-head dream building techniques. I am DEFINITELY using them from now on.
